grant writer + researcher

Position Description

Estimated weekly time commitment: 1-2 hours

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Working with our defined funding strategy based on identified needs and opportunities

  • Updating and maintaining our database of funding opportunities, completed proposals, reports and related confidential files

  • Gathering information for input to the submission of grant proposals and reports including partner and support letters and confirming budgets

  • Writing and submitting grant proposals and reports to appropriate third parties within the prescribed timeline and based on organizational requirements

  • Creating strategically positioned presentations that are succinct and poignant for all audiences

  • Improving our internal proposal and report processes and tools, such as gathering, organizing, and categorizing information

  • Collaborating with other executive team members

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is/has:

  • Adaptable & open to change

  • Enthusiastic about the work and vision of Pen Friends Collective

  • Strong organizational and management skills

  • Experience with institutional databases, public access sites, and primary research skills

  • Good writing, reporting, and statistical skills

  • Experience with budget management

  • Demonstrated abilities using GSuite

Bonus:

  • Experience with grant applications and reports

  • Experience in the non-profit sector
